Decades of selective breeding. Hundreds of unique combinations.
Ball python genetics is half the reason buyers shop NERD. Every tile below is a single trait — hover (or tap) to watch it in motion, then click through to see every available animal carrying that gene.

Recessive
Piebald
Variable patches of pure white randomly distributed across a normal pattern. One of the most coveted recessive traits in the hobby.

Recessive
Albino
T-negative — bright yellow and white, ruby eyes. The original recessive ball python morph.

Recessive
Lavender Albino
Lavender background under yellow markings. A separate locus from regular albino — produces stunning combos.

Recessive
Clown
Reduced patterning with a thick dorsal stripe and clean head. A foundation gene for most "designer" combos.

Codominant
Banana
Lavender base with bright yellow blotches and freckling. Sex-linked — has its own inheritance quirks.

Codominant

The same gene as Banana from a different line. Pinker base, identical genetics.

Codominant

Same morph family as cinnamon. Darker, richer base color.

Visual combination of pinstripe + yellow belly. Two thin dorsal stripes on a brightened base.

Codominant
Bumblebee
Pastel + Spider — one of the loudest two-gene combos in the hobby. Electric yellow with the spider keyhole pattern.

Recessive
Sunset
A line-defining recessive — deep mahogany-red and copper tones that intensify with age. Rare and slow to prove out.

Recessive
Het Piebald
Heterozygous (single copy) carrier of the piebald gene. Visually normal; produces 25% pieds when bred to another het pied.

Recessive
Het Clown
Heterozygous carrier of the clown gene. Visually normal; required for clown breeding projects.

Recessive
Het Albino
Heterozygous carrier of T-negative albino. Visually normal.
